Inspiring Future Surveyors at Gears and Careers
TSPS Chapter 5 was proud to participate in the Gears and Careers event hosted by Allen ISD, the Allen Economic Development Corporation, and the Allen Chamber of Commerce. This dynamic career exploration event brought together students, families, educators, and local employers to showcase high-demand career pathways—including the vital field of land surveying.
Timed with National Manufacturing Day, the event featured hands-on exhibits and demonstrations across industries such as engineering, IT, healthcare, law enforcement, and more. Representing TSPS Chapter 5, John Escalante, RPLS (Executive Director, TSPS-Dallas Chapter) and Daniel Perez, SIT were on site to engage with students and families, share insights into the surveying profession, and demonstrate modern tools used in the field.
Their presence helped spark curiosity and conversations about surveying as a rewarding and impactful career. By engaging directly with students in grades 7–12, TSPS Chapter 5 is helping build awareness and interest in the profession, while supporting Allen ISD’s mission to prepare students with future-ready skills through its Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.
Events like Gears and Careers are essential in bridging the gap between education and industry. TSPS Chapter 5 remains committed to mentoring the next generation of surveyors and strengthening community partnerships that promote growth and excellence in our field.
